EMU Health Sciences Faculty Organized Oath-Taking Ceremony for Spring Semester Graduates

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Health Sciences Faculty and School of Health Services organized the annual Oath-Taking Ceremony for its 2020 – 2021 Academic Year Spring Semester graduates on Tuesday, 6 July 2021 at 10:00 at the Pharmacy Faculty outdoor lecture theatre. Total of 395 newly graduated healthcare professionals took their professional oaths.

Mehtap Malkoç

“Care for People until Your Last Day”

The opening speech of the ceremony was delivered by EMU Health Sciences Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Mehtap Malkoç which was as follows: “Our Faculty and School, which is one of the important windows of EMU, the first university of the TRNC, to the field of health, gained a great momentum in a short time and became a respected institution in the field of Health Sciences in national and international platforms with clinical studies and scientific research, as well as undergraduate and graduate education has become an institution”. Prof. Dr. Mehtap Malkoç congratulated the families of the graduates and addressed the graduates by saying; “The hardest thing in achiving success is taking the first step. Today you are taking this first step of your professional lives. Always remember our motto, “Care for people until your last day.””.

Hasan Demirel

“I wish you Success”

EMU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Hasan Demirel also addressed the graduates and said: “EMU has had more than 66 thousand graduates over 42 years. Our Faculty and School has graduated over 2 thousand students until today. You will be joining among the healthcare professionals who serve the world. COVID-19 pandemic significantly affected the world and the healthcare professionals were among the sectors which took the lead during these difficult times”. Advising the newly graduated healthcare professionals, Prof. Dr. Hasan Demirel ended his speech by saying; “Try to be a life-long student, keep the learning techniques and methodologies you have been taught here in EMU. Make sure you improve yourself. Professional experience and professional training continues all throughout one’s lifetime. I wish you success”.

“We are Happy and Proud”

EMU Board of Trustees President Dr. Erdal Özcenk’s speech addressing the students was; “The importance of professionals working in all areas of health has been understood once again during the pandemic period that we have been fighting for one and a half years. As EMU, we are happy and proud to be raising healthcare professionals who are beneficial to humanity. I would like to thank you in advance for all the help you will contribute to human health and the world in your future life”.

Graduates took their Oaths

Students graduating from EMU Health Sciences Faculty, Departments of Nutrition and Dietetics, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Nursing, Health Management, Sports Sciences undergraduate programs and from Oral and External Health, Anesthesia, Operating Room Services, Dialysis, Physiotherapy, First and Emergency Aid, Radiotherapy and Medical Students associate degree programs took their oaths with accompanied by their program coordinators. EMU Health Sciences and School of Health Services graduates took an oath before starting their careers this year, as they do every year, and expressed their commitment to the principles and ethical values they will abide by throughout their professional lives.
