Culinary Arts Associate Program (Turkish) (A.A.S., 2 Years)
The fundamental aim of the Culinary Arts Associate Degree Program is to cater for the demand for qualified professionals who possess the skills to produce quality food and beverages from different national and international cuisines.
Successful graduates of the two-year program receive an associate degree in the field of culinary arts. In accordance with the structure of the hospitality and the food and the beverage sectors, students, along with theory, are given internship opportunities for 60 days at hotels or restaurants.
The medium of instruction is Turkish. Along with theoretical information regarding culinary arts and culture, students also have the opportunity of practice and application at famous hotels and institutions within our country. The courses are delivered by prominent academic staff and notable names within the sector. Along with courses, students have a chance to gain in-depth knowledge in their field through seminars and workshops.
The Culinary Arts Associate Degree Program brings up chefs who are well-equipped in the area of world and local cuisine. The instructional language is Turkish and courses, both theory and practice, are delivered by qualified staff who possess valuable sectoral experience.
- Computer Labs: 2 computer labs with CD-ROM, multimedia, Internet and e-mail facilities are available for students.
- Multimedia Lab: In-class learning is supported by the integration of multi media into the program.
- Demo (Practice) Kitchen: The training kitchen is used to assist the students in Hospitality Management programs to gain a thorough insight into the operation and management of a professional kitchen. Additionally, students are offered the opportunity of implementing theory into practice in Tower Restaurant.
- Demo (Practice) Restaurant: Practical implementation of food and beverage courses takes place in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management Tower Restaurant and Bar. Tower Restaurant offers students a unique opportunity to gain experience on national and international cuisine as well as service techniques.
Our graduates have a wide spectrum of job opportunities in food and beverage sub-branches of the tourism sector. Students in the program carry out their internship in 5 and 4-star hotels or first class holiday villages and gain in-depth knowledge regarding the food and beverage operations. EMU Beach Club is also another place providing the students with opportunities for internship. Hilton, Sheraton, Swiss Hotel, Marriott, Kempinski, Radisson SAS, Holiday Inn, Merit Hotels, Dedeman, Kaya Hotels, Golden Tulip, Noah's Ark and, Arkın Group Hotels are only a few of the places where our students may pursue internship opportunities. Following the completion of their internship, our graduates are offered jobs in these organizations.
