Civil Aviation Cabin Services Associate Program (A.A.S., 2 Years)

Air transportation plays a crucial role in meeting the need for transportation in today's globalizing world. It is a vital sector of our society and our economy. As the aviation sector develops rapidly, the number of skilled personnel required by the sector is also increasing. The need for cabin crews equipped with passenger relations, emergency rules, first aid, communication skills, and foreign languages is also increasing in line with this development.

The Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Civil Aviation Cabin Services Program aims to train highly qualified human resources who keeps flight safety at the highest level, customer satisfaction oriented, equipped with effective communication and problem solving skills. Our graduates will be able to use the resources efficiently and effectively to solve the problems with up-to-date information provided by the experienced education staff. With the advantages provided by the educational program supported by relevant practice opportunities, our students pursue a wide spectrum of job opportunities upon their graduation.

General Information

Medium of instruction is English. Additionally, our students take English courses during the first two years of their studies with the aim of improving both their English and jargon regarding the sector. Apart from English, our program contains second foreign language opportunities. Our courses offer practice opportunities at international airlines or civil aviation institutions.

Education

Computer Labs: 3 computer labs with CD-ROM, multimedia, Internet and e-mail facilities are available for students.

Aviation Systems Laboratory: Our students are able to receive hands-on training on aviation programs such as Galileo and Amadeus, which are preferred by the world's leading airlines.

Multimedia Lab: In-class learning is supported by the integration of multi-media into the program.

Application Laboratories: Students who specialize in food and beverage service in the cabin have the chance to learn by applying service techniques in our application laboratories.

Facilities

  • Computer Labs: 2 computer labs with CD-ROM, multimedia, Internet and e-mail facilities are available for students.
  • Multimedia Lab: In-class learning is supported by the integration of multi media into the program.
  • Demo (Practice) Kitchen: The training kitchen is used to assist the students in Hospitality Management programs to gain a thorough insight into the operation and management of a professional kitchen. Additionally, students are offered the opportunity of implementing theory into practice in Tower Restaurant.
  • Demo (Practice) Restaurant: Practical implementation of food and beverage courses takes place in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management Tower Restaurant and Bar. Tower Restaurant offers students a unique opportunity to gain experience on national and international cuisine as well as service techniques.

Career Opportunities

Our graduates have a wide spectrum of job opportunities in the civil aviation sector as cabin attendant, instructor cabin attendant, control cabin attendant, cabin crew training instructor, cabin services manager, passenger service officer. The collaboration agreement with Turkish Airlines, the Star Alliance member of the world's largest airline community, will maximize the educational level of our students. Our university is cooperating with many public and private institutions related to civil aviation sector such as TRNC Civil Aviation Office, Ercan State Airport, Ercan Airport Square Business, Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, Atlasglobal, Lufthansa Airlines etc. Thanks to the joint projects and various studies carried out in this framework, our students have possibilities of education, internship and employment. Graduates also have the possibility of continuing their studies at EMU Tourism Faculty by enrolling postgraduate programs offered by our faculty.
