EMU Health Sciences Faculty Organised an Oath Ceremony for New Graduates

Eastern Mediterranean University, Faculty of Health Sciences organised an oath ceremony for the graduates of the 2014-2015 Academic Year Spring Semester. During the ceremony which took place at Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center at 10:30 a.m. on 13 July 2015, around 541 graduates recited the medical oath.

The oath ceremony commenced with a moment of silence and the national anthem followed by  a trio musical performance of the academic staff of EMU Fine Arts Education Department Music Teaching Program. After the trio performance, EMU Health Sciences Faculty Acting Dean Prof. Dr. Mehtap Malkoç provided information about the faculty and stressed the importance of the health services staff in the field of medicine. Prof. Dr. Malkoç put forth that their faculty endeavors to cater for the demand for qualified health services staff who would contribute to science both within the country and at an international level. Prof. Dr. Malkoç concluded her speech by extending her best wishes to the new graduates in their prospective careers.

Delivering a speech on behalf of the university, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam stated that EMU has obtained considerable achievements in the field of health education during the recent years. Prof. Dr. Osam also expressed his trust and confidence in the new graduates as they will reflect the quality of the university in their prospective careers. At the end of his speech, Prof. Dr. Osam extended his congratulations and best wishes to all graduates.

Following Prof. Dr. Osam, member of the TRNC Assembly from the Republican Turkish Party Dr. Arif Albayrak also delivered a speech and wished all graduates a future filled with success.

Following the opening addresses, graduates of Health Sciences Faculty, Nutrition and Dietetics Department, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department, Nursing Department, Health Management Department, Sports Sciences Department and School of Health Services’ Oral and Dental Health, Anaesthesia, Dialysis, Physiotherapy Technician, First and Emergency Health and Medical Imaging Program recited an oath with their department chairs and academic staff members.
