EMU Faculty of Law Academic Staff Member Assoc. Prof. Dr Arzu Alibaba Represents EMU at the Scientific Events

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Law academic staff member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arzu Alibaba was invited as a guest speaker to the “Arbitration in Every Aspect Certificate Program” organized by Özyeğin University Law Faculty. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alibaba made a presentation titled “Arbitration in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus” during the event organized within the collaborations of International Law Students Association (ILSA) Özyeğin Law Club, Prof. Dr. Nuray Ekşi and Özyeğin University Law Faculty.

23 Speakers Attended the Event

23 speakers consisting of academicians who work in the field of Arbitration Law, public officers and practitioners attended the 2-day event which discussed the different aspects of law. During the very same session in which Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alibaba delivered her speech, Galatasaray University Faculty of Law academic staff member Prof. Dr. Tolga Ayoğlu made a presentation titled “Arbitration in Corporate Disputes” and, academic staff member Dr. Ekin Ömeroğlu delivered a speech on “Evidence in Arbitration”.

In addition to the said event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arzu Alibaba also delivered a seminar called “Citizenship as a Human Right” during an event held by International Cyprus University (ICU) Arts and Science Faculty, Department of Psychology on the occasion of 10 December, Human Rights Day. Considering the fact that there are more than 12 million stateless people living in the world today, the point reached by the "right to have citizenship" in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was examined during the seminar.
