A Seminar on “The Right to Citizenship as a Human Right” Held at EMU Faculty of Law

Organised by the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Law and the Law Club operating under the Social and Cultural Activities Directorate, the third of the “People Worrying About Injustice: Cultured Lawyer Seminar Series” was held at the Faculty of Law.

EMU Faculty of Law academic staff member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arzu Alibaba attended the event as a speaker. In her presentation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arzu Alibaba emphasized that citizenship, which plays a very important role in the attainment of an individual's rights and freedom, is one of the most basic human rights, and touched upon the negative effects of statelessness on accessing basic human rights. Responding to the questions of the participants after the presentation, EMU Law Club Advisor Assist. Prof. Dr. Nazime Beysan presented a certificate of appreciation to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alibaba.
