AIESEC Eastern Mediterranean, representative of Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), successfully held its annual local conference, ADACO 22, at Kantara Youth Camp on 19-20 March 2022. Various sessions were held at the conference attended by 41 students.
Among the training topics offered by the members of the Executive Board were the vision and purpose of AIESEC, the development of leadership characteristics, strategic planning, and time management. In addition, with the participation of former members of AIESEC Eastern Mediterranean, the advantages of AIESEC for its members in the future, the presentations of its international partners from India and Poland through online platforms and the importance of international cooperation were also covered.
In the second day program, the presentations and information sharing of the institutional partners, in which partnership and entrepreneurship are at the forefront, were included. First, Nancy Jones, one of the representatives of VOIS Cyprus, and then EMU Engineering Faculty student Hasan Bilgen, founder of the start-up company DAXICI, provided information on their organizations, visions and values to the participants.
AIESEC Denmark President Gabor Bogdan also talked about what AIESEC brought to him and how he changed his mindset over time via a zoom session. Mine Karayazı, AIESEC Turkey Headquarters, Executive Board member in charge of Bilateral Institutional Internships and Consultancy Internships Mine Karayazi held sessions on both days on what AIESEC Turkey is doing, common goals and what needs to be considered and done throughout the year to achieve them.
The fact that the activities were held at the Kantara Youth Camp provided the young participants the opportunity to socialize among the intensive training programs. At the end of 2 days, the participants became more ready as they developed global citizenship and leadership qualities as well as their operational and organizational knowledge.
