ECON601 Advanced Microeconomic Theories

This course is designed to help you develop an understanding of several major topics in microeconomics and a working knowledge of a number of advanced topics. Emphasis in this course is placed on the determination of market equilibrium for goods and factors in perfectly competitive and imperfect markets, applied welfare economics and decision making with uncertainty.

ECON602 Advanced Macroeconomic Theory

Economic dynamics, economic growth and business cycles. The open macroeconomic economy. Macro econometric models. Comparative macroeconomic policies. Topics may vary.

ECON603 Mathematical Economics

A mathematical treatment of economic problems and issues. Topics may vary such as the consumer theory, the production theory, markets, linear and nonlinear equilibrium and CGE and will include applications of integral calculus, differential and difference equations, problems of economic dynamics, growth and stability. Dynamic input-output analysis and non-competitive models.

ECON604 Time Series Econometrics

This course introduces students to the time series methods and practices which are most relevant to the analysis of economic and financial time series with focus on applications in macroeconomics, international finance, and finance. We will cover univariate and multivariate models of stationary and nonstationary time series in the time domain. This course prepares you for empirical analysis towards satisfactory progress in your PhD thesis or graduate studies. The emphasis is on modelling skills and practical applications.
