EMU Hosts World-Famous Confectionery Chef Rene Klinkmüller

In scope of the 7th International Career Week activities taking place under the organisation of the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Alumni Communication and Career Research Directorate in collaboration with EMU Tourism Faculty, one of the most famous confectionery chefs of Germany, Rene Klinkmüller, came together with the students of EMU at a workshop which took place at Tourism Faculty Demo 4 Kitchen.

All Day Long Workshop

The workshop which lasted all day long attracted great interest amongst the students. Students who participated in the said workshop expressed their satisfaction and amazement with the pace and work discipline of the confectionery chef Rene. After the workshop, a dessert plate prepared and presented by the students to EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam was praised by Prof. Dr. Osam. On the second day, Chef Rene Klinkmüller presented information about his life and advised the students to draw a road map and climb the career ladder step by step.

Who is Chef Rene Klinkmüller?

Rene Klinkmüller won 4 gold medals in Culinary Olympics and Culinary World Cup with 100 full points. He served as the captain of the German Culinary National Team for 6 years. For 10 years, he worked in Switzerland, Luxembourg, Austria and Germany's most luxurious patisseries, and then he took over his 35-year-old Klinkmüller patisserie and bakery in Luckau, Germany in 2017 from his family. He served as jury chair in many international competitions. Klinkmüller is a food consultant for the television program ”Pastry with the Professionals” in Germany and has also worked as the head of new product development department of Starbucks in China and Malaysia and for many other companies.
