Eastern Mediterranean University, Community Involvement Center has introduced another meaningful social responsibility project. With the framework of “20 November Universal Children’s Rights Day”, EMU Communication and Media Studies Faculty, Genesis IMC Agency organised a seminar about children’s rights at ‘Şehit Zeki Salih Elementary School”.
During the seminar, Social Services Specialist Barış Başel provided information to parents about children’s rights. Başel highlighted the psychological and physical abuse of children and also talked about the concepts of successful son/daughter, social media and children. Stressing the importance of the relationship between the family and the children, Başel added that communication problems arising among the mother, father and child bring out undesirable behavior on the child’s behalf. At the end of the seminar, Başel answered the questions of parents.
Following Başel, school principal Yılmaz Erdelhan thanked all those who contributed to the seminar and stressed the importance and benefits of seminars as such for families. At the end of the event, Director Erdelhan presented Başel a plaque of appreciation.
