Organised by Eastern Mediterranean University Social and Cultural Activities Directorate, 5th Rock’n EMU Festival took place in EMU on 17 April 2015.
Activity organiser Evşim Erel stated that this year 3 music clubs from EMU, namely Group Othello, EMU Music Club and Group Sansür, participated in the event. Following group performances local rock music group Ahmet Evan took the stage. At the end of the stage performances, EMU Student Council Chair İbrahim Öztürk presented the groups plaques of appreciation. During the second phase of the event, famous Turkish rock group ‘Mor ve Ötesi’ entertained music lovers with their wonderful performance.
At the end of the concert, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam expressed his pleasure in hosting “Mor ve Ötesi” and presented a plaque of appreciation to group members.
Mor ve Ötesi Visited EMU Rector
Prior to the concert, Group Mor ve Ötesi visited EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam and expressed their pleasure in performing in EMU. Prof. Dr. Osam stated the importance EMU gives to students’ social involvement along with their academic studies and expressed his pleasure in hosting the group in EMU. Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Hıfsiye Pulhan, Vice Rector for Administrative Affairs Prof. Dr. Bekir Özer and activity organiser Evşim Erel were also present in the meeting at the end of which Prof. Dr. Osam presented lefkara lace handicrafts to group members.
