EMU to Collaborate with Necmettin Erbakan University

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) and Necmettin Erbakan University located in Konya, Turkey, have signed a protocol to establish various academic collaborations.

The signing ceremony for the said protocol took place on Friday, 22 December  2023, at 10:00 in EMU Rector, Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç’s office. The ceremony was attended by EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç, Necmettin Erbakan University Rector Prof. Dr. Cem Zorlu, EMU Vice Rector responsible for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Osman M. Karatepe, Vice Rector responsible for Financial Affairs Prof. Dr. Salih Katırcıoğlu, and representatives from both universities.

"Significant Contributions to the Academic World"

Speaking at the ceremony, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç expressed great honor in laying the foundation for the first collaboration between the distinguished university in the homeland and their institution. He emphasized that this collaboration would make significant contributions to the academic world, highlighting its importance within EMU's established strategy and vision. Prof. Dr. Kılıç conveyed his hopes for the success and prosperity of this protocol.

"Utilizing the Accumulated Knowledge of Both Institutions"

Speaking at the ceremony, Necmettin Erbakan University's Rector Prof. Dr. Cem Zorlu expressed their satisfaction in signing a protocol with EMU, one of the most rooted and distinguished universities in Cyprus. Prof. Dr. Zorlu noted the diverse potential and abilities of both universities, emphasizing the approach of utilizing the accumulated knowledge of both institutions to move forward. He extended wishes for the protocol to lead to positive outcomes.

Following the speeches, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç and Necmettin Erbakan University Rector Prof. Dr. Cem Zorlu signed the protocol. At the end of the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Kılıç presented a Lefkara embroidery panel, a distinctive Cypriot item, to Prof. Dr. Zorlu.
