EMU SCT Delivers Computer Courses for Local Administrators

Within the framework of a protocol settled between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Labor and Eastern Mediterranean University, Eastern Mediterranean University School of Computing and Technology has started to offer computer courses to local administrators within the TRNC.

Offered at EMU School of Computing and Technology’s computer laboratories, the first phase of the said training was targeted towards local administrators from Nicosia, Famagusta and Iskele regions. Delivered within the framework of e-state application, the said course are presented under the coordinatorship of SCT academic staff member Yeşim Kapsıl Çırak by academic staff member Cihan Ünal and EMU Computer Center staff Özlem Görkan Evre on a voluntary basis.

Director of EMU SCT Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa İlkan stated that community services as such is one of the most important responsibilities of universities. The courses will contribute to the provision of more quality services within the operations of local administrators. Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlkan also provided information about EMU’s history as well as its current academic quality and put forth that universities should serve the society, since a university excluding itself from the community makes no sense. Central District Governor Dudu Barkınay extended her gratitude and appreciation  both to EMU Rector’s Office and EMU SCT team delivering the training.
