Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Architecture Vice Dean Prof. Dr. S. Müjdem Vural represented EMU at Bauhaus 100th Anniversary Design Festival organized by Yıldız Technical University (YTU) Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture between 11 and 24 November 2019.
As the most extensive “Bauhaus 100th Anniversary” event organised in Turkey, the event hosted talks, exhibitions, a total of 750 participants and 33 workshops. During the festival, Prof. Dr. S. Müjdem Vural held a workshop titled “Walking-İstanbul 3: City Rally; Tracing the Bauhaus Design Philosophy”. In the workshop, Bauhaus Design Philosophy was discussed with the participating students, details of the field work were presented, the first field studies were conducted for the preparation of individual perception maps and individual perception maps were discussed. During the festival, workshop organisers and all participants further discussed Bauhaus design philosophy and worked in groups. On the last day of the festival, presentations on the 33 workshops were held.
