Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın has issued a message on the occasion of 15 April, World Art Day. Prof. Dr. Hocanın included the following statements in his message:
“15 April is observed every year as the World Art Day in order to strengthen the bond between art and society all over the world. 15 April has been chosen because it is the birthday of Leonardo da Vinci, who symbolises the contribution of art to creativity and design.
Continuously prioritising service to community, Eastern Mediterranean University continues its activities supporting arts. With the initiation of art projects, our institution has created an art collection to transfer our local artists and their works to future generations.
I would like to extend my best wishes to all artists, all of whom are an indispensable part of our society, on the occasion of 15 April, World Art Day. I also wish that all art activities in our country continue in an increasing manner.”
