Each year, Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) hosts many students coming from the various universities which EMU has collaborations with. Students coming to the EMU within the scope of the exchange program return to their home countries with all the good memories that made in TRNC and the quality education they receive at EMU. Within the scope of the student exchange program, a welcoming event for the exchange students who came to study at EMU during the 2021 – 2022 Academic Year Spring Semester was organized by the EMU International Student Activities and Student Unions Unit. The event, which was organized for 6 students coming from Suleyman Demirel University in Kazakhstan and 2 students from L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University also in Kazakhstan, took place on Friday, 11 March 2022 at 15:00 at the EMU Social and Cultural Activities Directorate. EMU vice Rector for Social and Cultural Affairs Prof. Dr. Deniz İşçioğlu and EMU Kazakhstan Students Association Executive Board Members were present during the event.
The event commence with International Office staff members and exchange students introducing themselves. During their speeches, students who came from Kazakhstan stated their excitement on being in TRNC, noted that they loved TRNC and EMU campus and said that they were welcomed with love. The event continued with an informative session by the International Office members on the events to be organized in the university. During the event, vice Rector for Social and Cultural Affairs Prof. Dr. Deniz İşçioğlu presented souvenirs to the exchange students. The event ended with a group photoshoot.
