EMU Nursing Department Continues to Offer Training for Professionals

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing provided training for 20 nurses under the title of “Pediatric Basic Life Support / Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Airway Obstructions” in collaboration with the Cyprus Turkish Nurses and Midwives Association. The said training was offered on Tuesday, 29 March, 2022 at the EMU First and Emergency Aid Laboratory under the coordination of EMU Health Sciences Faculty Vice Dean and Nursing Department academic staff member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülten Sucu Dağ. The training, delivered by Nursing Department academic staff member Sen. Inst. Gülcan Dürüst Sakallı and Sen. Inst. Serpil Çağlıyan Payas was offered in two stages as theoretical and practical.

Theoretical Knowledge Applied on Models

In the training, a theoretical presentation was made by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülten Sucu Dağ under the guidance of the American Heart Association (AHA, 2020) and European Resuscitation Council (ERC, 2021) Guidelines. In her presentation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sucu Dağ covered child and infant basic life support and airway obstructions. Afterwards, EMU Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing academic staff had the participants apply the theoretical information explained on the models. After the training in which the participants took an active role, a question and answer session was held. The event came to an end with the closing speech of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sucu Dağ.
