Eastern Mediterranean University Architecture Faculty, Interior Architecture Department organised a “10th Anniversary Cocktail” at EMU Beach Club for the department’s first graduates.
Having contacted its graduates throughout the world one by one, EMU Interior Architecture Department lived the excitement of bringing together the faculty members with graduates who have completed 10 years following their graduation. The opening address of the event was delivered by Interior Architecture Department Chair Prof. Dr. Uğur Ulaş Dağlı, who put forth that they are honored to reunite with their graduates. Prof. Dr. Uğur Ulaş Dağlı also added that they endeavor to increase the frequency of events as such.
Stating her happiness in being part of the organisation, academic staff member Prof. Dr. Banu Çavuşoğlu expressed her happiness in seeing that the event has reached its aim. EMU Architecture Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Şebnem Önal Hoşkara and Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Hıfsiye Pulhan, who both attended the event, thanked all those who participated in the event and expressed their hope to have similar events repeated in the near future.
During the cocktail, graduates were presented certificates in memory of the event. The organisation also hosted a slide show displaying graduates in past and present photos.
Graduates’ Comments
Mustafa Ölmez: I travelled to Cyprus from Antalya just to attend this organisation. Following my graduation I worked at an architecture company for three years and then established my own company, where I have been working for 8 years. I am extremely happy with the education I received in EMU and recommend it to everyone. Currently, one of my cousins is studying at EMU Architecture Faculty upon my recommendation. I am extremely happy in taking part in this organisation.
Gözde İnce Arseven: I came from İstanbul. Following my graduation I got employed at Koçtaş and Simtaş. Now, I am planning to launch my own company. I am happy with my studies in EMU and strongly recommend it to all those who are interested. It is nice to reunite with my old friends and instructors.
Cem Bıyık: I came from Ankara. Following my graduation, I established my own company Cempa Construction in Çankaya and I put my signature on successful projects.EMU’s contribution to my success is undeniable. I am also extremely happy to meet my friends and instructors after all those years.
