Eastern Mediterranean University, Education Faculty, Fine Arts Education Department organised a musical performance, talk and masterclass event with the participation of Bilkent University Music and Stage Arts Faculty Dean and Music Department Chair Assoc. Prof. Kağan Korad. Targeted towards the students of EMU Music Teaching Program, the event commenced with musical performance and a talk and finished with a masterclass.
Who is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kağan Korad?
During his studies, Assoc. Prof. Kağan Korad took courses with famous performers including Ahmet Kanneci, Ireneusz Strachocki and Ayhan Erman, and worked with Hubert Kaeppel, Marco Socias, Leo Brouwer and Costas Cotsiolis. He gave around 500 concerts in Turkey, Europe, Asia and Africa both as a solo performer and as part of Bilkent Guitar Trio (1987-99), Terci-Korad Guitar Duo (2000-2013) and Trio Anka (2012- ).
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Korad participated in major guitar festivals in Europe including Koblenz, Volos, Guitart and Naxos, delivered professional courses, took part in various competitions as jury members, and delivered speeches in panels and seminars. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kağan Korad is the creator and coordinator of Turkey Classical Guitar Meeting.
