EMU Department of Psychology and Başkent University Department of Psychology Become Sister Departments

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Psychology and Başkent University Department of Psychology announced that as of December 2018, they would define the other party as their sister department.

In his statement, EMU Department of Psychology Chair Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih Bayraktar said: “We are happy to have brought our relationship with Başkent University Department of Psychology, that we always have mentioned with respect and admiration to this stage. With our cooperation during last year’s 2nd Social Psychology Congress and the Işık Savaşır Clinical Psychology Symposium we will hold this year, I have no doubt that our new status as sister departments will bring both academicians and students great opportunities. From now on, both of these valuable departments accredited by the Turkish Psychologists Association will continue their academic lives with each other’s support. I wish well to all”.

Başkent University Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Psychology Chair Prof. Dr. Doğan Kökdemir emphasised that by joining their strength, both departments would collaborate for future improvement of the science and profession of psychology both at home and in the world. Prof. Dr. Kökdemir expressed his happiness about the two departments’ collaboration and stated that he believed this would bring good outcomes for all.
