Within the framework of the social responsibility project organised by Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Communication, Public Relations and Advertising Department students Ezgi Yılmaz, Zeynep Okka and Sıla Babaliki, a seminar titled "Awareness of Natural Disasters, Fires and First Aid Training” took place with the collaborations of EMU Search and Rescue Club (EMU– SRC) at the Faculty of Tourism Conference Hall.
The seminar adopted “Awareness Saves Lives” as its theme and the students were given applied first aid education which could be used in cases of earthquakes, accidents and emergency situations with the aim of raising awareness for such circumstances.
The training was conducted by TRNC Civil Defence Organization administrative officer Kamil Ağçabay and both earthquake and accident victims shared their experiences with students to create social awareness. At the end of the seminar, Civil Defence Organisation workers were presented plaques for their contribution whilst the participants received their certificates of attendance.
