8th National Computer and Instructional Technologies Education Congress

Students of Eastern Mediterranean University Education Faculty Computer and Instructional Technologies Education Department successfully represented Eastern Mediterranean University at  8th Computer and Instructional Technologies Education Congress which took place at İzmir Ege University between 12 and 14 May 2014.

Participated by over 1200 students from 30 universities, the congress hosted numerous projects. With his project on “Educational Web Design”, EMU Computer and Instructional Technologies Education Department student Adil Çelik came first in the project competition which included 44 projects in total. Çelik’s award-winning project is available at (www.educlife.com).

In his project, Çelik created a virtual environment enabling students to carry out their social activities and educational involvements concurrently through the combination of a social network and a unique educational management system.    EducLife, which is both in English and Turkish,  was piloted in Eastern Mediterranean University for the first time and will hopefully be implemented in different universities within the region in the near future.

EMU Computer and Instructional Technologies Education Department Chair Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ersun İşçioğlu stated that competitions as such contribute to the professional development of the students as well as their motivation and positive career-outlook. Prof. Dr. İşçioğlu added that the university is proud of their students’ achievements.
