Faculty of Medicine
Medicine Undergraduate Program (Joint program with Marmara University, Turkey)
The first three years of the medicine studies, excluding the preparatory year, are completed at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The last three years of the studies will take place at UTEAK (National Medicine Education Accreditation Board) accredited Marmara University Medicine Faculty in Turkey, İstanbul.. The medium of instruction is English and the English preparatory period of the program is 1 year. Turkish language courses are offered to international students within the first three years.
EMU Medical Faculty delivers vertical and horizontal integration in the curriculum in line with the leading medical education programs in the world. In the first three years of core preclinical training, the curriculum encompasses student-centered training in basic sciences, ethics, application of evidence based medicine principles, development of professional skills as well as special study modules on human sciences, behavioral science, philosophy, natural science, social sciences, communication skills, arts and IT classes of their choice. Students become confident and competent in their approach to clinical problems and dilemmas and develop a holistic bio-psycho-social approach to medicine whilst developing their exploration and leadership skills.
Faculty of Dentistry
The Faculty of Dentistry has been developed within the framework of a joint education and training program and will be conducted in collaboration with Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Dentistry and University of Health Sciences (SBU) Faculty of Dentistry.
The Dentistry program will be carried out by EMU in Northern Cyprus in the pre-clinical phase (1st and 2nd Years) and will be completed by SBU in a period of five years during which the clinical phases (3-5 Years) will be performed in Istanbul. The official language of the program is 30% English and 70% Turkish.
During the pre-clinical studies, international students will have the opportunity to learn Turkish as it will be necessary for the dentist-patient communication at the clinical stage. Istanbul clinical stage of Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry will be held by SBI and hospitals in Turkey.
The joint program aims to bring together education, research and patient care and provide students with the opportunity to become part of the most modern dental research. The common curriculum will integrate basic science education and clinical teaching into community-based learning.
Faculty of Health Sciences
Nursing Undergraduate Program (50% Scholarship)
Those who complete the English Nursing degree program are given the title of "Nurse" and the possibility of working in many countries, especially the EU countries, as the program is in line with the European Union criteria. Nurses can work in all health care settings because they are health professionals with an active role in patient care services within the scope of primary health services as well as hospitals where treatment services are provided.
Our graduates can serve as service nurses, hospital nurses / nursing services manager in health institutions that provide therapeutic services. In addition, our graduates who want to do postgraduate education can work as teaching staff in the nursing departments of universities by taking the scientific expertise and doctoral education both at home and abroad.
Nutrition and Dietetics Undergraduate Program (50% Scholarship)
Following successful completion of their undergraduate education, students of the Nutrition and Dietetics Department receive the title of a “Dietician”. Graduates of the program may also pursue postgraduate studies at master’s or doctoral degree level and may become senior dieticians or doctors.
Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Undergraduate Program (50% Scholarship)
With the aim of graduating successful and modern physiotherapists, our university has established collaboration protocols with Dokuz Eylül, Marmara and Gazi Universities of Turkey. Along with the collaborations, our department receives professional academic support from prominent faculty members at various institutions in Turkey. Our program has been designed in such a way that analysis, tackling problems, reaching conclusions, thinking creatively and critically, working in a team and communicating effectively have become indispensable elements of the course content. A number of collaboration protocols have alsoPh been settled with different institutions to provide our students with internship opportunities.
Graduates of the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation program are awarded the title of a “Physiotherapist”. Program graduates may continue their studies at master’s or doctoral degree levels and become a “Specialist Physiotherapist” or “Doctor of Physiotherapy”.
Faculty of Pharmacy
Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) Undergraduate Program (50% Scholarship)
Eastern Mediterranean University Faculty of Pharmacy started offering education at the beginning of the 2011-2012 Academic Year. The medium of instruction is English in the 5-year program which is composed of 10 semesters excluding the English Preparatory School. The Faculty also offers a 6-year Pharm.D. program. Putting considerable focus on laboratory applications, Eastern Mediterranean University Pharmacy Faculty consists of the following departments and units:

Graduates of the program may work in pharmacies, hospitals, medicine industry, research and development laboratories, medicine and medical equipment companies and any other equivalent establishments. They may also work in the cosmetics industry, thanks to the in-depth information they received from courses on cosmetology.
Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) Undergraduate Program (50% Scholarship)
What is the difference between B. Pharm and Pharm D.?
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) is an undergraduate pharmacy course and Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) is a professional pharmacy doctoral course.
- B.Pharm is 5 years course where as Pharm.D is a 6 years course
- After completing Pharm D. successful graduates will get title of Doctor (Dr) (which should not confused with PhD)
- After completing B Pharmacy, successful candidates will get Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy. Some countries accept only a Pharm D degree (such as Canada, USA, Iran, India)
- Pharm.D trains students to work in hospital settings and in an industry environments as it provides training and clerkship additionally to community pharmacy practice.
- A Pharm D graduate has a greater benefit to directly pursue for a Ph.D. as compared to a B. Pharm graduate.
- After completing a Pharm D, one may find work in Hospitals, Clinical research organizations in addition to the pharmacies, pharmaceutical companies and research firms that also offer job prospects for a B.Pharm graduate.
