Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Communication Faculty, New Media and Journalism Department hosted theatre and dubbing artist Pelin Turancı. The artist got together with EMU students within the “Interpersonal Communication” course delivered by EMU New Media and Journalism Department academic staff member Prof. Dr. Fatoş Adiloğlu and, delivered a seminar on public speaking, the art of speaking effectively, and body language in communication.
Stating that being in EMU both as a student and as a theatre and dubbing artist, Pelin Turancı expressed her feelings by saying; “Touching the audience from the stage and touching the audience with my voice on the screen has been the greatest pleasure I have had for years. Now, it is a very special feeling to be instrumental in what our students want to contribute to them, together with our academic staff members who are taking the New Media and Journalism Department forward”.
New Media and Journalism Department Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Metin Ersoy made a statement regarding the matter and stated that as the New Media and Journalism Department, they attach great importance to art, theatre and effective communication and they are honored to host the theatre and dubbing artist Pelin Turancı who is also a student of the department. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ersoy thanked Pelin Turancı and, the course instructor Prof. Dr. Fatoş Adiloğlu for providing such an opportunity.
Who is Pelin Turancı?
Pelin Turancı, who continues her artistic life in Istanbul, works as both the actress and the General Coordinator of "Ak'la Kara", a private theater. Turancı also works as the dubbing artist of Ak’la Kara International Dubbing Studios. The artist has been working in theatre sector for 25 years and in dubbing for 12 years.
Recently, artist Pelin Turancı has been performing one of the leading roles of “On Kişiydiler” theatre play along with famous and legendary cinema artist Ediz Hun. The play is staged in İstanbul. Alongside with her acting and dubbing artistry, Pelin Turancı who has given seminars on speaking in public, the art of effective speaking and body language in communication as a result of her trainings also continues her education life in Cyprus as a student at the EMU New Media and Communication Department.
