Syrian Ambassador to Tanzania Abdulmanem Annan paid a visit of courtesy to Eastern Mediterranean University Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam. During the visit, Annan and Osam exchanged information on EMU and recent developments.
Stating that he is visiting EMU because of his two daughters who chose to pursue their higher education in EMU, Abdulmanem Annan added that he has heard the good reputation of EMU from African and Syrian families. Annan also thanked Prof. Dr. Osam for the interest EMU demonstrates towards Syrian students.
Thanking Annan for preferring EMU for his daughters’ higher education, Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam also extended his sympathy towards all Syrians who are undergoing difficult times due to the ongoing war. Adding EMU’s willingness in supporting Syrian community, Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam presented Annan a gift made of lefkara lace to mark his visit to EMU. Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sözen, Vice Rector for Promotion Prof. Dr. Hasan Amca and Public Relations and Press Office Director Murat Aktuğralı were also present in the meeting with the ambassador.
