Special Reception from EMU for Graduates and Their Families

As part of the Eastern Mediterranean University’s (EMU) 2021-2022 Academic Year Spring Semester Graduation activities, a Graduation Reception was held at the EMU Rector’s Office Poolside on Sunday, 3 July 2022, at 19:00. At the reception, where EMU graduates and their parents who have a share in their success, came together with EMU staff, the participants had a nice evening. The reception started with the screening of the EMU promotional film and the video “Being a Student at EMU”.

Speaking at the opening of the ceremony, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın started his speech by welcoming everyone who attended the graduation reception, and stated that while the graduates receive high quality education from the first day they come to the university until their graduation, they also become a part of the life in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) as well as the social and cultural activities, and that the students who come to the island from other countries to study return their countries as cultural ambassadors with good memories. At the end of his speech, Prof. Dr. Hocanın extended his congratulations to graduating students and their families.

President of EMU Board of Trustees Dr. Erdal Özcenk stated in his speech that EMU shares the pride of all graduates and their families. Emphasizing that families send their children to EMU with great sacrifices to receive high quality education and that those children will now witness the advantages of graduating from EMU as experts in their fields, regardless of their place in the world, Dr. Özcenk thanked the academic staff who brought up the graduates and all EMU staff for their devoted work.

Following the speeches, Othello Folk Dancing Team and Flora Trio group entertained the audience with folk dance and music performances, respectively. At the end of the performances, groups were presented with flowers by Vice Rector for Social and Cultural Affairs Prof. Dr. Deniz İşçioğlu.
