Nowruz Event Held at EMU

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Azerbaijan, India, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan Student Societies operating under EMU International Student Activity and Student Unions Unit organized a Nowruz event on Friday, 22 March 2024 at 08:00 p.m. at EMU Activity Center. EMU Student Council also attended the event.

Considered as one of the oldest holidays and meaning “A New Day”, Nowruz symbolizes rebirth and affirmation of life in harmony with nature.

Delivering a speech at the beginning of the event, EMU Vice Rector for Promotion and Institutional Communication Prof. Dr. Ali Öztüren provided information about Nowruz. Prof. Dr. Öztüren wished that Nowruz would bring happiness to the world. 

Students Attended the Event with Traditional Outfits

EMU Folkdance Society took the stage for a dance performance during the night attended by many. While the students attended the event with their traditional outfits, they also presented the special dishes of their countries to the taste of the participants. Traditional theater, music and dance performances were performed by the student unions. The participants of the event celebrated the arrival of spring with various activities.
