“Kutu Kutu” Theater Play Staged at EMU

The “EMU Art Days” organized by the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Social and Cultural Activities Directorate and EMU Art Coordinator Zehra Şonya with the contributions of the Public Relations and Media Directorate continued with a theater play titled “Kutu Kutu” that was held on Monday, 7 November 2022 at 19:30 at the Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center. Famagusta Naval Forces Commander and Colonel Meriç Katipoğlu, TRNC State Theatres Director Mutlu Ateş, EMU Vice Rector for Social and Cultural Affairs Prof. Dr. Deniz İşçioğlu, art-lovers and EMU students attended the event.

Play Received Great Attention

Written by playwright Memet Baydur and directed by artist Mehmet Ulubatlı, “Kutu Kutu” was staged by Özgür Sanat Theater and Culture Association actors Ümit Urel Üzgüner, Selin Dalgıçoğlu, Bilen Kılıç, Muammer Tekkanat, Meryem Uygar and Rasim Çolakoğlu. The play told the story of the young intellectuals who have left their homes due to differences of opinion with their elders and the conflicts they had with a Mayor against all kinds of works of art such as sculpture, painting, theater and opera. The audience enjoyed the play which received great attention. At the end of the play, EMU Vice Rector for Social and Cultural Affairs Prof. Dr. Deniz İşçioğlu presented appreciation plaque and a bouquet to Özgür Sanat Theater and Culture Association Director Meryem Uygar and Director Mehmet Ulubatlı.

 

“Fanatik” Theater Play to be staged on 9 November

EMU Art Days will end on Wednesday, 9 November 2022 with the “Fanatik” Theater Play to be staged at 19:30 at the Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center. Written by Michael Önder and directed by Çağrı Şensoy, the play in question stars Neslihan Arslan, Nurhan Özenen and Salih Bademci. The play chronicles the comedy of a family who find themselves in conflict with each other while trying to do what is best for their young children.
