KTTMOB General President Seran Aysal Visited EMU

Cyprus Turkish Engineers and Architects Chambers Union (KTMMOB) President Seran Aysal visited Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU). A press conference was held at the EMU Rector's Office on at 09:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 29 September 2020. EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın and KTMMOB President Seran Aysal, KTMMOB Secretary General Tunç Adanır, KTMMOB Executive Board Active Member Evren Çavdır, EMU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Hasan Demirel, Vice Rector for Social and Cultural Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deniz İşçioğlu and Vice Rector for Administrative and Technical Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serhan Şensoy attended the meeting. 

Collaboration Between the Two Institutions Discussed 

Speaking at the press conference, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın stated that KTMMOB is one of the most important organisations in the development of the infrastructure of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and in technical matters. Underlining that KTMMOB prepares reports on different subjects in the light of science and sheds light on the society, Prof. Dr. Hocanın added “The general purpose of today's visit is to cooperate with our institutions. We plan to conduct work on research, development, entrepreneurship, increasing technical capacity, scientific reports and new plans. We want to complete the preliminary stage and continue our work on a technical level," .

Prof. Dr. Hocanın continued his words as follows: “In these difficult days we are going through we are planning to talk about the measures we will take in the light of science to reduce the impact of the pandemic. As you know, our University Senate has announced its decisions to safeguard the health and safety of our students and employees at the highest level at our university. As always, EMU assumes a pioneering role in providing quality education, making breakthroughs in research and serving our society. In this context, it is very important for us to cooperate with our society and non-governmental organizations. "

“We Will Develop Projects that Would Be Beneficial For Our Society”

In his speech, KTMMOB President Seran Aysal wished success to Prof. Dr. Hocanın  and his team in their new duties. Stating that EMU is one of the most important institutions created by the Turkish Cypriots, Aysal said, “In this process, EMU will go further and continue to guide the Turkish Cypriot Community in the light of science. As KTMMOB, we also desire to take our society forward by acting with kindness, solidarity, sharing our knowledge and joining our forces. KTMMOB is one of the biggest professional organizations in our country with more than 4,500 members. It includes 15 active chambers and more than 25 different occupational groups. We also have many technical committees. KTMMOB's messages to the society are a product of the work of technical committees. "

KTMMOB President Aysal said, “As KTMMOB, we are trying to serve with the responsibility of being a public, qualified and professional organization at the point of social benefit, as a voice of all our new graduates and academicians in the public, municipality and private sector. At this point, we made this visit to contribute to our society at different points by benefiting from EMU's strong potential and human resources. As a result of the visit, we hope to be able to return with good services and good projects that will be beneficial to our society so that we can prove together what the Cypriot Turks can achieve ”.

At the end of the meeting, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın presented to KTMMOB President Seran Aysal a unique frame made of Lefkara Lace.
