EMU Signs a Project Agreement with the Cyprus Turkish Teachers’ Trade Union

An agreement regarding the design of a social facility that the Cyprus Turkish Teachers' Trade Union (KTÖS) plans to build in İskele in accordance with the sustainability principles has been signed between the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Rector’s Office and the Cyprus Turkish Teachers' Trade Union (KTÖS). The parties signed the agreement on Friday, 17 December, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the EMU Rector’s Office. EMU Vice Rector for Administrative and Technical Affairs Prof. Dr. Serhan Şensoy and KTÖS Secretary General Şener Elcil put their signatures on the said agreement. Coordinator of EMU Vice Rector's Office for Administrative and Technical Affairs and Revolving Fund Operations Director Hasan Kavaz, EMU Architecture Faculty academic staff member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ercan Hoşkara and KTÖS Education Secretary Burak Maviş were also present at the said event.

Within the scope of the agreement, EMU Urban Research and Development Center (URDC) Executive Board Chair Prof. Dr. Şebnem Hoşkara and Faculty of Architecture academic staff member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ercan Hoşkara were appointed for the realisation of the project. EMU URDC will undertake the preparation of land analysis and research report for project area, SWOT analysis with a participatory process, vision and strategy work for the relevant area, preparation of an architectural idea project in accordance with the sustainable design criteria with 2 and 3 dimensional presentations for the relevant area, the feasibility study for the idea project, the preparation of the architectural application project and the visa approval from the Chamber of Architects.
