EMU Signs a Collaboration Protocol with Presidential Symphony Orchestra

A collaboration protocol has been signed between the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Presidential Symphony Orchestra (TRNC CSO). The said protocol has been signed by EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın and Undersecretary of the President’s Office of the TRNC Okan Donangil,. At the Protocol Signing Ceremony, EMU Vice Rector for Social and Cultural Affairs Prof. Dr. Deniz İşçioğlu, EMU Education Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Ahmet Pehlivan, Head of Fine Arts Education Department Prof. Dr. Serdar Çetin Aydar, TRNC CSO Coordinator Mustafa Kofalı and TRNC CSO Conductor Ali Hoca were also present.

The said protocol aims to ensure that the two institutions work together to develop and enrich the cultural, artistic and educational life of the TRNC and make the activities accessible to every citizen.

    

EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hocanın stated his belief that the cooperation protocol signed between the University and the TRNC CSO would form a basis in terms of culture and art. Stating that EMU aims to serve the entire society in social and cultural terms, in addition to education, research and community services, Prof. Dr. Hocanın emphasized that EMU has so far demonstrated its academic quality on international platforms. Stating that EMU, as a state university, always wants to preserve and contribute to art and cultural values, Prof. Dr. Hocanın added that the TRNC CSO is a well-established orchestra and that cooperation is extremely important in this context.

TRNC Presidential Undersecretary Donangil stated that the cooperation protocol to be signed by EMU, the country's most important brand in the field of education, and the TRNC CSO, is important. Donangil emphasized his belief that the said protocol will support the country in terms of culture and arts and that he thinks that artistic activities will reach a higher level. Donangil wished the protocol to be beneficial for the whole country.
