EMU Signs a Collaboration Protocol with KTSYD

A cooperation protocol has been signed between the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Rector’s Office and the Cyprus Turkish Sports Writers Association (KTSYD) to develop and strengthen mutual relations. The signing ceremony of the protocol was held on Friday, 28 April, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. in the office of EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın. At the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Deniz İsçioğlu, the Vice Rector Responsible for Social and Cultural Affairs, and KTSYD members Sedat Kılıç and Süleyman Rebge were also present. The protocol was signed by EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hocanın and KTSYD President Burhan Gürkan.

"We are Happy to Offer Postgraduate Study Opportunities to KTSYD Members"

Speaking at the signing ceremony, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın stated that EMU has achieved many successes and championships in various sports in both men and women categorıes in leagues participated in North Cyprus and the Republic of Turkey. Prof. Dr. Hocanın emphasized that it is important for young people to do sports as sports not only bring health, but also give young people the skills of teamwork, sharing, developing strategies and moving towards a common goal. Prof. Dr. Hocanın said that EMU is pleased to offer potgraduate education opportunities to the members of an important association such as KTSYD in terms of contributing to education as the only state university established by law in North Cyprus, and added that the protocol will be beneficial for both institutions.

"We Have a Long-Standing Cooperation with EMU"

KTSYD President Burhan Gürkan also stated in his speech that he ıs very happy to be at EMU and that the cooperation between EMU and KTSYD has been going on for many years. Gürkan pointed out that KTSYD celebrates its 40th anniversary this year and that there has been cooperation with EMU, one of the country's most established educational institutions, for over 10 years and that they will sign the protocol for the continuation of this cooperation. Gürkan stated that EMU has been successful in the sports field for years and has achieved many successes in sports branches, and also academically, it is a prestigious educational institution in the country. Gürkan said that KTSYD has 87 members and that many of its members have successfully been pursuıng their careers as graduates of EMU's postgraduate programs due to the long-standing cooperation between EMU and KTSYD. Gürkan wished for the cooperation between EMU and KTSYD to be beneficiak and to continue for many years.
