EMU Prepares to Host International Writers’ Football Tournament

The Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) is set to host a prestigious sports organization between the 5th and 9th of May 2016. Teams from Germany, Hungary, Austria, England, Turkey and the TRNC will be competing in the “EMU International Writers’ Football Tournament”. Over one-hundred writers and artists from the countries listed above are set to appear in the tournament which has the slogan “Football Without Borders”.

The matches are set to take place on the 6th -7th -8th of May at EMU Stadium and Famagusta Dr. Fazil Kucuk Stadium. The organization will be held in collaboration with the Turkish Sports Writers’ Association, the Turkish Cypriot Football Federation and the Turkish Cypriot Sports Writers’ Association.

Rector of EMU Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam and Acting Director of the Public Relations and Press Office Directorate Murat Aktugrali travelled to Istanbul to attend a press conference taking place on Wednesday the 20th of April 2016 at the Turkish Sports Writers’ Association. The press conference will commence at 11:00 a.m. Turkish international footballer Tumer Metin and sports writer Ahmet Cakir will also be attending the meeting. A press conference about the said organisation will also take place in North Cyprus at the end of April, where the public will be informed about the organization.
