Eastern Mediterranean University Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sözen and Registrar’s Office Director Hüseyin Ünsal Yetiner visited Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government to initiate various academic collaborations.
The group of officials from EMU attended meetings with the representatives of the oldest university of the region Salahaddin University and Erbil Polytechnic University. During the visit, EMU representatives signed collaboration agreements which include the establishment of joint programs. Within the framework of the collaboration agreements, Eastern Mediterranean University will also be offering postgraduate and doctoral degree program opportunities for these institutions.
During their stay in Iraq, Eastern Mediterranean University Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sözen and Registrar’s Office Director Hüseyin Ünsal Yetiner also had meetings with Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government’s Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education. During the meetings, both parties agreed on the formation of a joint educational advisory board with Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government and Eastern Mediterranean University’s educational opportunities to be offered to the students of higher education sent abroad by Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government.
