EMU Nursing Department Offers First Aid Training To Famagusta Vocational High School Application Kindergarten

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Health Sciences Nursing Department provided First Aid Training at Famagusta Vocational High School Application Kindergarten. The training, which was carried out with the slogan "First Aid Everywhere for Everyone", was organized upon the demand of the school teachers. The training was carried out in two stages as theoretical and practice on models at EMU First and Emergency Aid Laboratory.

Participants Took an Active Role

In the training initiated by EMU Health Sciences Faculty Vice Dean and Nursing Department academic staff member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülten Sucu Dağ with the sharing of theoretical knowledge, the topics of Adult-Child-Infant Basic Life Support and Airway Obstructions were explained under the guidance of the 2020 AHA and ERC 2021 Guidelines. After the theoretical knowledge, the topics covered were put into practice on the models, under the supervision of Nursing Department academic staff members Gülcan Doğru Sakallı and Serpil Çağlıyan Payas. The training, in which the participants took an active role, continued with the question and answer part and the closing speech of  Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülten Sucu Dağ. The training ended with the presentation of certificates of participation to those who participated.

While focusing on basic issues such as Adult-Child-Infant Basic Life Support and Airway Obstructions within the scope of First Aid Training, the life-saving significance of knowing the First Aid application steps for children in schools was once again emphasized.
