Eastern Mediterranean University hosted Tarsus District National Education Director Ahmet Sefa Demir and a group of administrators.
Vice Rector for Promotion Prof. Dr. Hasan Amca and Coordinator for Promotion Tevfik Yoldaş held a meeting with the visitors on EMU and higher education on 7 May 2015. During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Amca provided detailed information about the university with a specific focus on its establishment philosophy, fees, scholarship opportunities, infrastructural possibilities, accreditation and international competition. Stating that EMU has obtained a considerable development with its own possibilities as well as governmental support, Prof. Dr. Amca put forth that EMU now possesses qualities for international competition. Highlighting the importance of accreditations, Prof. Dr. Amca added that EMU holds a considerable number of accreditations gained from international bodies. Giving EMU Engineering Faculty as a sample, Prof. Dr. Amca stated that EMU Engineering Faculty holds ABET Accreditation, one of the most prestigious accreditions in the field of engineering through which graduates of EMU pursue high level employment opportunities throughout the world. Stating that EMU’s primary responsibility is students and student-centered education, Prof. Dr. Amca added that the university’s main objective is to elevate students’ desire towards learning. Prof. Dr. Amca also provided information about alumni relations and student exchange programs. At the end of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Amca presented lefkara lace handicraft to Ahmet Sefa to mark his visit to Eastern Mediterranean University.
At the end of the visit, guests expressed their fascination with EMU, its infrastructural facilities, campus and student profile.
