EMU Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School Organizes a Project Titled "Turkish Cypriot Culture"

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School carried out a social responsibility project titled “Turkish Cypriot Culture”. As part of the project organised by Mehsen Ercanlar, coordinator of social responsibility projects and academic staff members Nevin Adalar, Pinar Hudaoglu and Refika Ilkan, students and teachers visited the village of Akova for the second time.

During the visit, students had the opportunity to take part in a tour of the village, examine Cypriot village life and speak with the locals. The students were also entertained by Akova Women’s Association who provided the students with a series of home-made Cypriot dishes. At the end of the trip, the students greatly enjoyed watching the Altinova Folk Dancing Group. Students stated that they had the opportunity to witness Cypriot culture first-hand and mesh with the local community. Students described the trip as a very positive experience.
