EMU Faculty of Tourism Attends 6th Gastromasa Gastronomy Conference

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Tourism attended the 6th International Gastromasa Gastronomy Conference. The said conference, which was suspended for two years due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, was held in Istanbul with intense participation at the Golden Horn Congress Center.
Representing EMU at the conference, held under the main theme of "Design", Vice Dean of Faculty of Tourism Assist. Prof. Dr. M. Güven Ardahan attended the event. World-renowned star chefs shared their culinary experiences with the audience at Gastromasa, one of the most important gastronomy organizations in the world. The organization, which was broadcast live on social media and the internet, attracted great attention both within Turkey and the world.

Attending the conference, Assist. Prof. Dr. M. Güven Ardahan stated that award winning chefs of famous restaurants, among which are Michelin-starred Mugaritz Restaurant (14th amongst 2021's best 50 restaurants), Bachour Bakery, DiverXO's (20th amongst 2021’s best 50 restaurants), Restaurant La Vie Osnabrück and Disfrutar Restaurant, namely; Dabız Muñoz (best chef of 2021), Antonio Bachour, Oriol Castro, Vladimir Mukhin, Andoni Luis Aduriz, Diego Guerrero, Atsushi Tanaka, Helene Pietrini, Ricard Camarena, Thomas Bühner, Fabrizio Fiorani, Kevin Lacote, Yoji Tokuyoshi, Igor Grishechkin, Syrco Bakker, Joao Rodrigues, Jonathan Bernsten, Paolo Casagrande, Juanjo Lopez, Thibault Sombardier and Rodolfo Guzman provided an unforgettable experience for gastronomy enthusiasts during the event.

Emphasizing that the Gastromasa has gained an important place in the international gastronomy community, the speakers stated that the theme for 2022 has been determined as "sustainability". Gastromasa continues to maintain its feature of being the gateway of Turkish gastronomy to the world with the impact it has created.
