EMU Doctoral and Master’s Degree Graduates Receive Their Diplomas

Eastern Mediterranean University’s (EMU) 2023 – 2024 Academic Year Fall Semester Postgraduate Graduation Ceremony was held on Tuesday, 30 January, 2024, at 04:00 p.m. at the Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center. At the ceremony, doctoral and master’s degree graduates received their diplomas. Present at the ceremony were EMU Board of Trustees President Dr. Erdal Özcenk, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç, Gazi University Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız, Health Sciences University Rector Prof. Dr. Kemalettin Aydın, EMU Board of Trustees Members, Vice Rectors, Institute for Graduate Studies and Research Director Prof. Dr. Ali Hakan Ulusoy and Assistant Directors, Members of the Senate, Faculty Members, graduates and their families. The ceremony was broadcast live worldwide via BRT 3, EMU TV and the social media accounts of EMU (YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/user/eastmeduniv and Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/eastern.med.univ/)

The ceremony commenced with the entrance of the 2023-2024 Academic Year Fall Semester Postgraduate Program Graduates to the ceremony area accompanied by music and applause. After a Moment of Silence and the National Anthem, a recital performance by EMU Faculty of Education, Fine Arts Education Department, Music Teaching Program Academic Staff Member and Pianist Assist. Prof. Dr. Atakan Sarı and Violinist Başak Elcil took place. Then, EMU Faculty of Education, English Language Teaching Master’s Program Graduate Şerife Engür and EMU Faculty of Architecture, Architecture Ph.D. Program Graduate Nessma Amin Qasem Alhammadi delivered speeches on behalf of graduates.

 

“EMU Graduates Make a Difference”

Speaking at the ceremony, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç noted that the total number of EMU’s graduates, together with the graduates to receive diplomas at the graduation ceremonies of 2023-2024 Academic Year Fall Semester, exceed 72 thousand, and that EMU takes pride in its graduates who are all around the world. Providing information on EMU’s international achievements and the accreditations the university holds, Prof. Dr. Kılıç stated that this semester over 16,300 students from 105 different countries have received education ad EMU, adding that EMU is a huge educational institution with students from every corner of the world. Congratulating the EMU graduates and their families, Prof. Dr. Kılıç expressed that EMU graduates will be successful individuals making a difference in their professions no matter where they are in the world.

“You will Proudly Carry the Torch of Science Ignited at EMU”

EMU Board of Trustees President Dr. Erdal Özcenk also delivered a speech at the ceremony and noted that the graduation day is a proud day for the graduates, making their families, loved ones as well as EMU proud. Saying that the graduates, who came to TRNC from all around the world, received the best education, Dr. Özcenk emphasized that they will reap the benefits of the quality education they received at EMU in the next chapter of their lives. Thanking the graduates, their families, academic staff members and all EMU personnel, Dr. Özcenk expressed that there is no doubt that EMU graduates, wherever they may be in the world, will proudly carry the torch of science ignited at EMU and will always illuminate the path of science. Lastly, Dr. Özcenk wished the graduates success in their future endeavors.

Graduates Received Their Diplomas

2023 – 2024 Academic Year Fall Semester Postgraduate Graduation Ceremony continued with the presentation of plaques to thesis advisors and diplomas to doctoral program graduates by EMU Board of Trustees President Dr. Erdal Özcenk and EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç. EMU Institute for Graduate Studies and Research Director Prof. Dr. Ali Hakan Ulusoy and Assistant Directors Prof. Dr. Kağan Günçe and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Rizaner presented the diplomas to the post-graduate program graduates. The ceremony ended with the counting down from 10 accompanied by EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç and the students throwing their caps into the air with great enthusiasm.
