EMU Department of Nutrition and Dietetics Organizes Intercultural Food Festival

This year, the 4th event of annual Intercultural Food Festival organized by the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Health Sciences Faculty, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics took place on Thursday, 7 March 2024 between 12:30 p.m. and 02:00 p.m. at Health Sciences Faculty A Block – Main Entrance area.

The said event aimed to give Department of Nutrition and Dietetics students a chance to socialize with fellow students by introducing the traditional food and culture of their home countries. Total of 60 students from different countries attended the event, introducing 21 different cultural dishes. Within the scope of the event, volunteering students introduced the food that they had prepared at home, with their coordinators, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics academic staff members Assist. Prof. Dr. Fatma Hülyam Eren and Assist. Prof. Dr. Begüm Harmancıoğlu. Volunteering students also handed out posters and brochures they designed which provided additional information on each specific dish. The brochures included the recipe of the dish, its ingredients and, the nutritional value of each 100 grams portion of that specific dish. Attended by approximately 200 people, the event ended with the presentation of certificates of participation by Health Sciences Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Mehtap Malkoç and Nutrition and Dietetics Department Chair Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ceren Gezer.
