Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Communication, Department of Cinema and Television 3rd year students Nima B. Djavidani and Peyman Hoggati received awards for their short films titled Home and Homeless Man.
With the aforesaid films, Nima B. Djavidani and Peyman Hoggati won the Special Mention Award in London X4 short Film Festival in England, the Official Selection Award in Indie Short Fest in the USA, Official Selection and Screening Award in the Magikal Charm Experimental Video and Film Fest, and Best Lighting and Best Make up award in South Film and Arts Academy Festival in Chile. Additionally, they qualified for the finals in LIFFT India Filmostav World Sine Fest LONAVAL in India.
Chair of Department of Cinema and Television Prof. Dr. Bahire Özad stated that they are proud of the success of their students and underlined that these achievements are the forerunners of the greater successes in the future.
Visit to Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam
Prof. Dr. Bahire Özad and the award-winning students paid a visit to Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam. Congratulating the students for their achievements during the visit which took place on Wednesday, 13 November 2019 at 10:00 a.m., Prof. Dr. Osam wished them continued success. Prof. Dr. Osam stated that the university will provide the necessary support for the realization of the future film projects. Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Halit Tanju Besler was also present at the visit.
