Organised by Eastern Mediterranean University Social and Cultural Activities Directorate and directed by famous actor Emre Kınay, two-character theater play entitled “After the End” was staged at Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center on Thursday, 13 November 2014.
A large group of students, academic and administrative staff members as well as the local community attended the show which featured two lovers named “Mark” and “Louise”.
“After the End” depicts changing powers throughout the world on the basis of female-male relationships. The play also touches upon the power relationship at macro and micro levels. The audience was fascinated by the theatre play which, at macro level, shows the audience how a powerful country directs and leads weaker ones and at micro level, how males try to dominate females.
At the end of the event, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam presented a plaque of appreciation to Emre Kınay.
Duru Theatre Players Visited EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Osam
Prior to the theater performance, players visited EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam. Expressing his happiness in hosting famous theater players in EMU, Prof. Dr. Osam stated that Eastern Mediterranean University values art and artists. Famous theater player Kınay also stated his pleasure in exhibiting their plays in the TRNC via EMU as well as having a chance to meet the Turkish Cypriot community.
