23rd Tourism Days Activity from EMU Tourism Faculty

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Tourism organized the 23rd Tourism Days this year. Within the scope of the seven-day events, the concept of which was determined as "Explore North Cyprus" this year, trips were organized to promote the island. During the Tourism Days attended by speakers from abroad, activities for Canbulat Primary School students were organised within the framework of the social responsibility awareness.

Seminars and Trips Organized

The 23rd Tourism Days commenced with a morning cinema screening in EMU Tourism Faculty TH 108 Hall. Within the scope of the event, Europe, Middle East and Africa Hilton Hotels Senior Executive Recruitment Manager Björn Olthof gave an online seminar titled "Worldwide International Career Opportunities in Tourism and Hospitality - Hilton Hotels" and Fethiye Liberty Fabay Hotel General Director M. Nihat Tümkaya gave a seminar titled "Post-Pandemic Tourism Sector and Job Opportunities”. At the same time, a High Honor and Honor Ceremony for EMU Tourism Faculty, Tourism and Hotel Management two and four-year program students' was held. Afterwards, certificates of appreciation were presented to academic staff, research assistants and administrative staff.

Students Came Together with Successful Professionals

On the second day of the event, trips to Kyrenia and Nicosia were organized. Within the scope of the trip, Kyrenia – Tatlısu Miniatürk, Kyrenia Castle and Nicosia Walled City were visited. On the third day of the event, a trip to Famagusta was held. The third day continued with the Tourism Week Children's Festival organized for Canbulat Primary School students. The tours continued on the fourth and fifth days with accommodation in Güzelyurt, Lefke, Gemikonağı and Yeşilırmak. On the seventh and last day of the event, Chef Ali Ronay, owner of Ronay's Deli Chef, gave a seminar titled "New Trend in Gastronomy: Zero Waste". Afterwards, a High Honor and Honor Ceremony was held for the students of EMU Tourism Faculty, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts and Pastry and Bakery programs. EMU Faculty of Tourism 23rd Tourism Days came to an end after the students who were successful in the competitions were awarded their certificates.
