21 October World Journalists Day Message from EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın

Eastern Mediterranean University Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın released a message on the occasion of 21 October World Journalists Day. Prof. Dr. Hocanın’s message reads as follows:

“Distinguished Journalists,

On 21 October World Journalists Day, I extend my best wishes to all members of press, who have undertaken the duty of bringing the developments in our country to our knowledge, regardless of time and space. Journalism, as an honorable profession, opens the gates of truth to the society by informing the public about the developments accurately. Thanks to you, we can follow the developments on the other side of the world from our homes, workplaces or our phones and can view the world from a wider window.

You, who enable the society to develop in the light of facts, have continued to inform and raise the awareness level of the society through making many sacrifices in the pandemic process we are going through, and you have shown everyone once again how valuable you are for us by performing your professions under very difficult conditions.

As the Eastern Mediterranean University, we extend our best wishes to all esteemed members of press on 21 October World Journalists Day and wish them continued success in their professional lives. "

Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın
