Organised by Eastern Mediterranean University, Engineering Faculty, Computer Engineering Department and supported by EMU Game Platform, a game design activity entitled “Global Game Jam” is commencing with the opening of the event at 3:00 p.m. on 23 January 2015.
Applications to the event, which is open to everyone interested throughout Cyprus, may be submitted at Eastern Mediterranean University Computer Engineering Department. Participants will be expected to design a game on the specified theme within a period of 48 hours.
A total of 69 countries, 488 centers and 23,000 participants took part in last year’s “Global Game Jam”, an international event organised annually. Participants are invited to explore new technology tools, trying on new roles in development and testing their skills to do something that requires them to design, develop create, test and make a new game in the time span of 48 hours.
Following the online announcement of the game theme by the “Global Game Jam Committee”, participants are expected to submit their designs within 48 hours (local time). The event which is closely linked with different fields such as graphics, sound effects, story, programming, chapter design and test is a great opportunity for the participants to design unique products.
