Introduction to Film and TV Production (CATV101)

Students are introduced to the fundamentals of the film and video production equipment including the uses of digital cameras, lenses, camera support systems, portable lighting equipment and basic sound equipment. The aesthetic concerns of film and video production are also introduced through consideration of the basics of film and video language. The specific requirements of the screening media are also covered with a special emphasis on comparatively newer forms such as computer, web, mobile and digital platform screening in addition to traditional projection and broadcast-based forms. This course is the prerequisite of the production related CATV courses in advanced level.
