The “Global Village” event of AIESEC Eastern Mediterranean operating under the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Student Development, Activities and Sports Affairs Directorate was successfully held with the aim of encouraging cultural diversity and international interaction. The event took place at City Mall under the organization of AIESEC Eastern Mediterranean and contribution of EMU International Student Societies. Over 100 participants joined the event that featured most vibrant scenes of recent years.
Participants had the chance to closely experience various cultural elements, from traditional dishes and cultural objects to lifestyles and local rituals, at the booths representing 20 different countries. Throughout the day, dance and music performances as well as interactive events took place, bringing the organization a dynamic and joyous atmosphere.
“An Event Bringing World Cultures Together Under One Roof”
Belemir Aydın – Chairperson of AIESEC Eastern Mediterranean – made remarks on the matter, emphasizing the importance of the event that brings world cultures under one roof, aiming to create international awareness among the youth. Expressing their excitement and pleasure for this year’s deep interest from the society, Aydın noted that they were able to organize a more inclusive and broad event thanks to the support of City Mall. Aydın also noted with pride that the event contributed to strengthening intercultural understanding.
AIESEC Eastern Mediterranean officials extended their thanks to the administration of City Mall for hosting the event, and Eastern Mediterranean University for contributing the development of International Student Societies.
Once again this year, the Global Village event attracted great interest, standing out as one of AIESEC’s key events that promotes intercultural understanding, peace, and youth leadership within the community.
