EMU and Yıldız Technical University Collaborate in the Field of Architecture

Within the framework of the collaboration protocol between the architecture departments of Eastern Mediterranean University and İstanbul Yıldız Technical University (YTU), the application of a joint architectural studio commenced.  As part of the protocol and within the framework of the “Architecture Design Studio IV” delivered in Eastern Mediterranean University Architecture Department under the course code ARCH392 and  Architecture Design Studio 5 delivered in Yıldız Technical University Architecture Deaprtment under the course code MT5,  a joint program entitled “Temporary Residence Design Project” was applied for the place of Pfeizer drug factory in Ortaköy, İstanbul.   

The joint project which attracted the voluntary participation of 26 registered students of ARCH 392 course took place in Ortaköy, İstanbul. Following the seminar delivered by YTU Architercture Department chair, the team visited Ortaköy  to conduct a landscape analysis. Following the technical visit, the team went to different locations to explore different places as variations of the project and took a Bosphorus Tour.

EMU Architecture Department academic staff Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mujdem Vural, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Resmiye Alpar Atun and part-time academic staff Emre Akbil and Yusuf Özerdem will be taking part in the final project evaluation taking place in İstanbul.

In this respect, projects which will be carried out concurrently in parallel studios and evaluated by joint juries will be exhibited at the architecture departments of  EMU and YTU.
