Informative Talk on Piloting Profession Held at EMU

A talk event titled “How to Become a Pilot? All About Pilots” organized by the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Tourism, Civil Aviation and Cabin Services Program was held at EMU Faculty of Tourism with strong participation.

Pilot Serdar Altunok, a graduate of the Department of Public Relations and Advertising at the EMU Faculty of Communication, attended the event as a guest speaker and shared comprehensive insights on the journey to becoming a pilot, career opportunities in the aviation sector, and pilot training. Referring to his own career path, Altunok conveyed his industry experience to students and offered valuable advice to young people aspiring to pursue a career in aviation.

Speaking at the opening of the event, Acting Dean of the EMU Faculty of Tourism, Assist. Prof. Dr. İlkay Yorgancı, noted that the aviation sector is continuously expanding and that the demand for qualified human resources in this field is steadily increasing. Prof. Dr. Yorgancı also underscored the importance of such events in bringing students together with industry professionals.

Program Coordinator of the Civil Aviation Cabin Services Program, Aslı Akı, provided information about the program and emphasized that students’ engagement with industry representatives makes a significant contribution to their professional development. Akı also noted that EMU will continue to organize events that bring students together with the industry.

During the question-and-answer session of the event, students had the opportunity to ask questions about pilot training, career opportunities in airline companies, and current developments in the aviation sector. The program concluded with a token of appreciation presented to the speaker, Serdar Altunok, followed by a commemorative photo session.
