As part of the 23 April National Sovereignty and Children’s Day celebrations, Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Community Involvement Center (CIC) and Caesar Project collaborated to organize a colorful and meaningful event for children. Held for the children residing at the SOS Children’s Village Association, the organization made the spirit and joy of the national holiday even more memorable and special.
The event was attended by representatives, social workers, instructors and SOS mothers from the SOS Children’s Village Association, as well as members of the EMU-CIC. Extending beyond the participation of children residing at the SOS Children’s Village, the event also achieved an international atmosphere with the involvement of children from different countries and cultural backgrounds.
Designed around a Disney-inspired concept, the event provided children with a joyful experience through fairy tale readings, performances featuring Disney characters, clown shows, balloon activities, and a live concert. Children spent the day enjoying various play areas while also engaging in social interaction and shared activities with one another.
Within the scope of the organization, Jack Afik, representative of Caesar Project, came together with officials and educators from the SOS Children’s Village Association to exchange views regarding the event. Emphasizing his satisfaction with the enthusiastic participation of the children and the positive atmosphere throughout the day, Afik stated that similar social responsibility initiatives would continue in the future.
In her statement following the event, EMU-CIC Chairperson Asist. Prof. Dr. Nazenin Ruso Kandemir expressed pride in being involved in such meaningful collaborations as a center. Assist. Prof. Dr. Kandemir also conveyed her appreciation to all contributors who supported the organization of the event, especially Afik Group.
